Es wird eine Variable beschrieben, welche das Haushaltseinkommen in 5 Schritten ausgehend von der sog. "federal poverty line" (FPL) darstellt. Da ich nichtmal mehr weiß, wie man eine Variable mit 5 Zuständen (statistisch) nennt, könnt ihr ja sehen, wie viel Ahnung ich davon habe.
Im Text heißt es:
On inspection of the data, we noted that the
likelihood of receipt of an asthma self-management tool
was highest at the lowest level of income (less than FPL);
however, because of the small number of families at this
level (n ϭ 46), we collapsed the household income vari-
able by using a cutoff of 2 times the FPL (n ϭ 155).
"2 time the FPL" entspricht dem der dritten Stufe. Bedeutet es also, das (a.G. geringer Anzahl), die ersten drei Zustände/Gruppen der Variable einfach zu einer Gruppe zusammengefasst wurden?
